Eastside Children’s Health Initiative:

The foundation is a member of the Eastside Children’s Health Initiative (ESCHI). As one of five regional collaboratives in the county, the ESCHI program is part of the School Outreach Collaborative which provides outreach support to the county’s Children’s Health Initiative. The collaboratives provide targeted outreach to identify uninsured school-age children (elementary through high school) and their siblings. Sponsored activities provide application assistance to enroll uninsured children into Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Healthy Kids, or Kaiser Child Health Plan. Through these programs, children have access to comprehensive, culturally and linguistically competent and appropriate health care. As a result, underserved children in our community have improved health outcomes and improved quality of life. The foundation has been a collaborative partner since the program began in 1999.
